Florida Beach Vacation Rentals

St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg has a lively sunny spirit with a beautiful waterfront park to amble through, appealing sidewalk cafes and shops along Central Avenue, and many galleries for gawking.  The pier, fluffed up by a recent rejuvenation, has an aquarium, along with shops and places to eat. Feed the pelicans if you’d like.  Weekends find locals at their fav beach, Pass-a-Grille, named by French fishermen who used to grill their catch of the day there.  You can get there on the Suncoast Trolley, a bus that will get you there with no parking worries.  A visit to the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary will make you feel a little better about what happens to injured birds who get 6-pac rings caught around their necks and other environmental hazards: it’s the largest wild bird hospital in the world, treating somewhere around 500 birds back to health and release.  Plenty of restaurant options here, just take a look at our picks, or discover some of your own.
