Florida Beach Vacation Rentals

Why licensed?

Watercolor by Peter Bailey

Licensed vacation rental properties in Florida are meticulously inspected and reinspected by the Department of Hotels & Restaurants in order to remain in compliance with current health, safety, and business requirements.

Unlicensed properties are not.

That pretty much says it all.

The difference is obvious and very few people would choose an unlicensed property as a vacation destination if they knew what was at risk.

  • If it’s on a well, as many beachside properties are, the water needs to be tested regularly for ecoli and other issues to ensure it is safe.
  • ALL the smoke alarms need to work.
  • The fire extinguishers need to work and be easy to locate.
  • Do the locks work?
  • Is it sanitary?
  • Is the property located in an approved area so you don’t wind up dealing with upset neighbors?
  • If the property is unlicensed, you risk being involved in a code enforcement action during your stay, which can ruin your vacation.

Any one of these issues is enough to make any traveler think twice, but how many know to ask if a property is licensed, and then where’s the proof?

The proof is right here.

Unlike the big Internet travel directories liek Homeaway, TripAdvisor, and Klipkey; if it’s on our site, it’s licensed.  Reserving a licensed property is a great start to a vacation full of fun.
